Meeting / Event Reminder

The October club meeting is Thursday, October 16 at 7:00pm in the 2nd floor boardroom of Park Mazda in Sherwood Park. The Volume 14, Issue 11 Miata Musings newsletter will be available for pickup at the meeting.

The next (and last) event of 2008 is the Fall "Burn Some Wood" Cookout on Sunday, October 19 at James & Susan P.'s house located at 145 Jidaro Valley, SE of Sherwood Park.

To find it, from Edmonton, take Whitemud Drive east to the city limits, cross Highway 216 (Anthony Henday Drive) and continue east on what becomes Highway 628 for four miles (the north-south Range Roads are spaced on the mile) until you get to Highway 21. Continue east on what becomes Township Road 522 for another two miles until you come to a right-hand curve, which transitions you heading south on Range Road 224. Continue south for approximately one mile until you come to the first entrance to Jidaro Valley on your left (there are two, it really doesn’t matter which you take). Turn into the subdivision and continue on the loop until you find 145 (on your left if you’ve turned in at the first entrance).

The event is a simple one…enjoy the outdoors, eat, drink (don’t drink and drive), and be merry with fellow club members. Pets are welcome. The fire will start at 1:30pm. BYOB, food, etc…and James will supply the all the wood we could want – a side-effect of owning a very treed acreage lot.

Saturday, September 27, 2008

Welcome to new members:

Richard & Cynthia C. of Edmonton, and;
Orest & Lesia P. of Sherwood Park.

Hope to see you at all three events...even if you just come out to spectate.

Who Are We?

We are the members of the Wild Rose Miata Club, living in the Edmonton area, who have organized to enjoy the modern day classic Mazda MX-5 Miata!

Benefits of Membership

Unlike other sports car clubs, we do not focus on any one type of activity. The mission of the club is... the fun and enjoyment of owning and driving the Miata ... as well as other social functions. We have technical sessions to learn more about the Miata and its care, as the club is the best resource for information about your car.

Our newsletter is published monthly from Jan through November to keep our members informed of all the latest news, information, and upcoming events in the club.

Membership

Membership is just CDN$20 per year and entitles you to four issues of Miata Musings, member discounts at local dealers, service shops, aftermarket retailers, and much, much more. Follow the instructions on the application form... that's all there is to it.

Marshalling, timing help, etc.

All competitors will be required to assist with the marshalling and timing duties. While not driving, track workers are needed to marshal the course and time/record the times of the cars. Instructions on how to do this will be given at the event.

Sunscreen, rain gear, umbrellas, drinks, chairs, etc.

Bring suitable supplies with you for a full day outside without any shelter. There are no food or drink stores anywhere, so BYO drinks and food. Portable washrooms are provided.
