2013 Topless Sun Run -- May 24-26 -- Kelowna, BC

The Okanagan Valley Miata Club of Kelowna, BC, will be hosting Topless Sun Run 2013 from May 24-26. This now bi-annual event is a gathering of the clan where we will lead upwards of 100 Miatas through the beauty of the south Okanagan. This year the Holiday Inn West Kelowna is our headquarters. The evenbt cost is $85/person which includes a Friday evening meet and greet, Saturday picnic lunch at Skaha Lake Park in Penticton followed by our evening banquet. Registration will commence on February 6, 2013. Winter 2013 newsletter published

Your Winter 2013 issue of the Miata Musings newsletter was e-mailed out a few days ago...paper copies for those souls remaining with Canada Post will be out this coming week. Membership renewal notices will be e-mailed this weekend. It would be wonderful if you could deal with your membership renewals either in-person at the January or February club meetings, or pop them back via the mail in that same time period, for it'll make administration of the club come time for the Spring 2013 newsletter much easier.

Fall 2012 newsletter published at long last!

The long-awaited Fall 2012 newsletter was distributed via the club's Googlegroup (and direct e-mail to those two members not on it) on Friday, Dec 7. To the two members who don't have e-mail, a hard-copy will be mailed this coming week. The Winter 2013 issue, with renewal notices for those whose membership expire on Dec 31 will be published near to the end of the month or early January, so as to be in-hand prior to the January club meeting, where membership renewals will be gladly processed in-person. Have a great Christmas everybody.

Whoa...missed some posts

Apologies...there was no online reminders for the AutoObsessed event nor the October & November club meetings (e-mails were sent out via the Googlegroup). I shall do better in 2013. A reminder that there is no December meeting. Membership renewals for 2013 are greatly appreciated to be done in-person at the January club meeting.

Event Reminder -- Saturday, October 13 -- EZCC Autoslalom #5

This marks the last autoslalom of the year to be hosted by the Edmonton Z-Car Club, with WRMC members as invited guests. Registration is open now (deadline of Friday, October 6 for competitors). Hope to see you out on the runways at C.F.B. Edmonton.

Event Reminder -- Saturday, September 22 -- Fall Colours Run

The club's annual Fall Colours Run is Saturday, September 22. We meet at Gateway Park at 12-Noon and will stop mid-way in Seba Beach, to conclude at Lacombe Lake Park in St. Albert around 4:30pm. This will follow our tried 'n tested favourite route south / west / and north of the city. The weather's perfect...don't miss out on what is usually our best-attended event of the year!

Meeting Reminder -- Thursday, September 20

Thursday, September 20 is the club's monthly meeting. We'll be showing the "Racing the Rock" movie made by Adam & Tracy Costa profiling the two-car team from Flyin' Miata that competed in the 2011 Targa Newfoundland race. 7:00pm in the 2nd floor boardroom of Park Mazda -- don't be late!

Friday, August 3 is the registration deadline for this event if you wish to be a competitor. Do so via the EZCC's website. If you wish to merely attend to take pictures, cheer the WRMC members on, or volunteer to help, please contact Andrew Searle, our Competition Director, via his e-mail address listed on the back page of the Miata Musings newsletter. Dan Thorlacius from Calgary, the owner of the first of now two Miatas in Canada with a GM LS3 V8 engine under the hood from Calgary will be attending...just in case you want to see it or listen to it.
