Two more events in the bag...

What a wonderful weekend May 9-10 was...an excellent Spring Drive (despite the relocation of the start due to the mid-way taking up the St. Albert Centre parking lot -- a St. Albert member could have informed us) dodging all but one of the rain showers for an enjoyable 3hr drive, in addition to a very successful first autoslalom event of the season.

Ultimately we (only) had 12 cars on the Spring Drive, 11 starting from St. Albert and picking another up at the mid-point stop at Seba Beach.

Two new members tried autoslaloming out, joining the (depleted due to Mother's Day) ranks of the usual competitors. Some stellar driving was seen with a very engaging battle for top spot by four drivers.

April 30 deadline for May 10 autoslalom entry

A reminder that Thursday, April 30 is the deadline to get your entry information to Andrew S. in order to be able to attend (as a competitor, spectator, or event volunteer) the Sunday, May 10 autoslalom at C.F.B. Edmonton (per the base's security requirements).

Martin S. sent you all an e-mail, there was a short blurb in the May issue of the Miata Musings newsleeter, and there is also a thread on the club's forum -- with link to the EZCC's website, where you can find details on the event. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Miata Club Canada / WRMC forum status FIXED!

Seems that all who recently undertook the latest 8-part update from Microsoft fell victim to a glitch that the Yuku community of forums, inclusive of the Miata Club Canada, were no longer accessible.

As of Saturday, April 18, this seems to be rectified, as connection has been re-established.

Seems that Yuku has been a little up and down today...being down for the morning, up by noon, but down again this evening.

I've not received anything from them via e-mail re: status, so assume it's something minor and hope it'll be resolved soon.

Event Reminder, April 18

The Spring "Burn Some Wood" Cookout is Saturday, April 18, at Government House Park, located just off Groat Road / River Road / Victoria Park Road (NW of the Groad Road Bridge). The fire starts at 2:30pm...bring your own food, drink, and come out and enjoy the company of your fellow club members and shake off the winter blahs.

Thursday, April 16 is the club's meeting night...at 7pm in the 2nd floor boardroom at Park Mazda in Sherwood Park.

The May issue (Vol 15, Iss 5) of the Miata Musings newsletter will be available for pick up at the meeting (mailed thereafter).
